Last month, I did some stupid experiment and did one more with another food stall. The result?
Shocking.





Conclusion? The fries I ate should be somewhere in the sewer or as ashes by now. =)

Well, it's already May and almost 3 months seems I graduated.

Most of us have received the letter for enlistment and June, July batches made up the majority.
I must say the enlistment thing gave me a big headache. It was like planning to take a trip to Malaysia via Causeway but due to some unforeseen circumstances, you got to go by the 2nd link.
After receiving my notice on enlistment with PA, I have been making several inquiries to the CMPB and SPF with regarding to signing-on(salary, min. terms of engagement etc.)

I must say SPF hot line totally sucks. I made 5 calls to them and I never had a chance to speak to their customer officer. It doesn't matter that if they were busy, but over a period of 3 days and non going through? Thats bullshit.
An extract of the conversation I had with the answering machine

*me keying in the number on my hp

ring,ring,ring,ring,ring,ring,ring

"Welcome to SPF career hotline; For english: Press 1, For Chinese : Press 2"

*and so i proceeded on with all the crappy instructions. Listened to a 3 minutes mandatory message and continued for the option of speaking to the officer.

And so I waited and the first message recived:

"Our customer officer are busy at the moment, please hold while we connect you"

It continued for the second time:

"Our customer officer are still busy at the moment, please hold while we connect you"

And finally:

"Our customer officer are still busy at the moment, thank you for calling and have a nice day"

*PHONE HUNG UP ..........................*

that was my first reaction. And for the 3 days I tried calling at different interval, it all ended the same way.

Well, I shall not call them anymore.
I found out most of the stuff I wanted and after weighing the following options :

Min. Terms of Engagement: 5 years(inclusive 2 year NS)
Within the 5 years, paid as non-ns men pay.
Class 3- license.
No lump sum bonus.
I cannot jump from PA to Army Officer because skill sets differs. Which means I cannot pursue any career within the army side in my life.

Total amount earned +/- : $110 k

Sounds a lot but if I ORD and come out find a FT job, I believe the pay would be higher and I would have lots more freedom. (e.g part time study, part time work)
So conclusion? 2 years and out I come as a free man.

Ok. After whines, let me get on with my daily life updates.

Well, thats my unproductive up and down life for the past 2 weeks.
Having fun working and enjoying life. Not forgetting, keeping myself prepared for enlistment day.
